Your choice of dubbing decides how the fly sinks and how it looks in the water. Dry flies call for fine, water-repellent materials such as superfine synthetic fibre or greasy natural fur, which keep the fly on the surface. Nymphs and wet flies suit coarser materials such as hare or squirrel, which trap air and create the illusion of a living insect. Synthetic sparkle dubbings bring irresistible flash to streamers and attractor flies.
