Tätä tuotetta käytetään enimmäkseen pintaperhojen siipenä jos tehdään esim laskuvarjohäkilä. Erivärejä sovelletaan enemmänkin kohteen ja perhon näkyvyyden puolesta. Kirkkaan värit näkyvät tummissa olosuhteissa ja kaukaa kalastettuna paremmin. Vaalet sävyt taas arkaa kalaa ja kirkkaimmissa vesissä, sekä läheltä kalastettuna.

Voidaan käyttää myös ihan normaali siipenä esim kalvoroikkujissa ja pintakalvon alta kalastaessa, jolloin chenille nostattaa perhoa pintaa kohti.
